Da Nang: Marble Mountains and a Laughing Buddha

Took a fantastic tour using Tripadvisor to Marble Mountains (Am Phu Cave and Monkey Mountain) in Da Nang from Hoi An.  This is a group of hills that represent the five elements:  metal, water, wood, fire and earth.  Within these mountains are caves and tunnels used as Buddhist sanctuaries or during the war, as a hospital for the Vietcong.  Also nearby was an American air field during the Vietnam War.  The mountains and caves were beautiful and now serve as Buddhist temples.  On the way we stopped at a beautiful Buddhist Pagoda with a lady Buddha built to protect fishermen.
